5. Lose recess/lunch time?
*If a timeout occurs … email/call/communicating home will take place and the homeroom teacher will be informed
*Recorded in PowerSchool
Positive Consequences
1. 5 classes in a row with no students receiving a timeout = ‘student choice’
2. Entire trimester without any students receiving a timeout = ice cream treats for the class
Examples where a student would require a negative consequence:
1. Disrupting class
2. Talking while the teacher is talking
3. Talking over another student (not raising hand)
4. Not following the rules of an activity
5. Rudeness of any kind
6. Excessive talking/making noise while transferring to the gym or back to the classroom
All students, where applicable, that require disciplinary action will be coached to ‘make it right.’ If a meaningful apology is necessary, one will be rendered as part of the reconciliation process. Once a consequence is issued and the student is held accountable, our hope for all parties involved will have forgiveness in their heart. Grudges will not be held and the next day is a new day. If a student is repeating an offense over and over there could be a bigger problem occurring and certainly a parent conference could be an option.
